Overview

Prior to admission into the Ohio Bar, Kate was a law clerk in BMD’s Summer Associate Program in 2023.

Before deciding to go to law school, Kate was a member of the medical eligibility team at Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana based in Columbus, OH. In her role, she managed a caseload of referrals and worked closely with physicians, nurses, and social workers to determine whether a child’s condition met the organization’s criteria for a wish. This experience later led her to pursue a law degree with a focus in health law.

During her academic career at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Kate developed and showcased her legal writing skills in her externships with a federal judge and an Ohio Supreme Court Justice. Kate continued to explore her interest in health law through her coursework and as a legal intern with the Milton A. Kramer Law Clinic. In her time with the Law Clinic, she represented clients seeking Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and food assistance.

Kate currently serves as a Healthcare Partner with Cleveland Clinic Children’s where she provides recommendations to enhance the patient and family experience.
