BMD Names Kirk Roessler Cleveland Office Managing Partner

[CLEVELAND, OH – January 10, 2025] Brennan Manna Diamond (BMD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kirk Roessler as the new Office Managing Partner of its Cleveland office. Kirk joined BMD as a Member in January 2024, bringing over 35 years of experience in corporate, real estate, and commercial finance law.

Kirk’s practice focuses on delivering results for small and mid-sized businesses, emerging enterprises, and financial institutions. His practice areas include corporate transactions and governance, mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate and commercial finance. 

Recognized for his commitment to excellence, Kirk holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a distinction awarded to attorneys who demonstrate the highest levels of legal skill and professional standards. Kirk resides in Avon, Ohio and enjoys golfing, skiing and spending summertime on Pelee Island in Ontario, Canada. “I am really excited for the opportunity to continue the growth that Kate Hickner fostered in the Cleveland office as we celebrate BMD’s 25th anniversary.  We have a strong foundation upon which BMD, employing its core values of clients first, entrepreneurship and business family, can continue to expand its imprint within the Cleveland community and legal market.” 

Kate Hickner served as Cleveland Office Managing Partner for the past two years and expressed confidence in Roessler’s ability to guide the office toward future growth, “It has been an honor to serve the firm in this role, and I am confident that Kirk will be a strong and effective leader for our Cleveland office. He is well-respected by both his clients and the broader legal community.” Hickner will continue to grow her transactional health care practice out of BMD’s Cleveland office.

BMD Partner and Labor & Employment Co-Chair Bryan Meek has been named to Crain's Cleveland Business 2024 40 Under 40 list. With nearly a decade at BMD, Bryan's journey began as a law clerk and quickly led to his promotion to Partner. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, he launched the Employment Law After Hours podcast, which now has over 1,400 subscribers. Through this podcast, Bryan offers valuable insights on legal issues, making complex topics more accessible to listeners.

NAMAS | Insurance Discrimination - Against the Provider

Insurance discrimination can go beyond protected classes, such as race, national origin, sex, or religion. It can include discrimination against certain providers. The Affordable Care Act prohibits this type of discrimination by insurers when the provider is acting within the scope of their licensure. Once a proposed rule to implement this protection is in place, there could be wide-reaching reimbursement implications.
