BMD Announces Ed Brown Promoted to Partner

Brennan, Manna & Diamond (BMD) is pleased to announce Attorney Edward J. Brown has been promoted to Partner, effective December 1, 2024. Ed joined the firm’s Jacksonville office in 2020 as a member of the litigation practice group. He has extensive experience advising clients through complex commercial cases. Ed also practices in the areas of corporate law and creditor’s rights.  He collaborates with many attorneys across offices and is known for his legal and business knowledge, which gives him the ability to quickly and effectively respond to client matters.

“Ed’s promotion to Partner signifies not only his exceptional legal skills but also his unwavering dedication to our firm and clients, which makes him an invaluable asset to BMD’s future success,” said Jacksonville Managing Partner Matthew Jackson.

During his career, he has assisted both small and national clients in resolving their business issues; including, revising corporate bylaws, negotiating purchase and sale agreements, shareholder and derivative actions, breach of contract claims, breach of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, construction defects, and creditor’s rights actions. Ed graduated from Florida State with a degree in Finance in 2002 and obtained his J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2006.  He is married, has a son and a daughter, and is very involved in their lives.

BMD's Daphne Kackloudis Drafting Legislation Seeking Additional Funding for Children Born Addicted to Opioids

BMD's Daphne Kackloudis has been working with her client, Brigid's Path, to help them gain access to additional federal funds for their mission. She has drafted legislation which would do just that. The CRIB Act would amend the Social Security Act to allow Medicaid reimbursement for residential pediatric recovery centers such as Brigid's Path. Congressman Turner is going to ask Sen. Portman to amend his opioid bill (CARA 2.0) to include the CRIB Act.

BMD Seeking Recovery for Opioid Losses on behalf of Summit County and its Political Subdivisions

As the opioid epidemic continues to take its toll on our community, its resources and straining the already tight budgets, Brennan Manna & Diamond, on behalf of Summit County and its political subdivisions, filed a complaint against those companies that make or distribute prescription opioids seeking recovery of the County's losses as a result of the opioid crisis.
